Transitional Spaces 2001

An image / text work made for the collaborative publication Speaking and Making. The publication arose from the act of conversation between the collaborating artists in which thinking and speaking is a mobile exchange itself part of the production of art. The conversations were paralleled by a series of photographic ‘portraits'  made in the studio. Each resulting photographic exposure is a transitional space marking the intermediacy of an event that took place between photographer and subject. The images are framed and bound by the conversations that took place around them and the publication itself is a mediating object, a transitional object that travels freely.
