Interval 1994
Each waiting room operates as a ‘light box'. Red light dissolves through to blue light in one room and blue light dissolves through to red light in the other, creating a cross fade. There is an interim period when both lightboxes emit magenta light before moving apart. The duration of fade from one colour through to another is approximately two minutes. The work was made to be seen from the platforms, passing trains and the nearby road. The work draws attention to the interval between perception in a context of luminary flux.
