Horizon 2007-8

Horizon is a double screen video work, part of the Shifting Terrains series. The work consists of a pair of extended durational video images of a lighthouse in closeup. A horizon line of oscillating electrical wire passes through both images causing a kind of visual vibrato. A window reflects back sunlight as the sun moves across the sky. As with the other works in this series this work draws attention to issues of interconnectivity, displacement and incommensurability and proposes the experience of the image as a materialised intensity.
